What is a Health Coach?

The short answer is we focus on Transformation, instead of Information. I bet you already know some things you’d like to do to make you feel better. I bet you feel like you don’t have the time to spend on yourself and take action. Or you feel like you’ve tried and you don’t have the willpower to change your habits. A health coach give you the space space, support and accountability to find root causes and explore the best way for YOU to make changes.

It’s rare for anyone to get an hour to explore their wellness goals with a trained professional. As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals. Throughout my education, I have been exposed to 100s of dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you.

Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. It’s not about dieting, it’s about a sustainable lifestyle aligned with your values. My clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what they want to improve within the circumstances of their unique situation.

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationships cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.

We define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.

A Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. Just like a business or fitness coach, we start from where you are a make a plan to move forward. The coach client relationship is a unique mirror into your life that works without bias or expectations. This relationship doesn’t exist anywhere else in your life. It’s a safe space without judgement.
